1. Introduction
Welcome to the IT Artificer SMS ERP — a complete, web-based School Management System that runs one school across multiple branches (campuses) from a single login. It manages students, families, admissions, academics, attendance, examinations, fees, full double-entry accounting, transport, the front desk, communication and reports.
1.1 Who uses the system
- Super Administrator — full control across all branches; can switch between campuses.
- School / Branch Admin — manages a single branch.
- Accountant — fees and accounting.
- Teacher — attendance, marks, homework.
- Parent — views their children’s attendance, results, fees and notices through a dedicated portal.
- Student — views their own attendance, results and fees through a dedicated portal.
Tip What each person can see and do is controlled by Roles & Permissions (Section 10). If a menu or button is missing for a user, it is because their role does not grant that permission.
1.2 Key concepts
- Branch (Campus): every record — students, fees, accounts — belongs to a branch. The Super Admin chooses the active branch from the top-left switcher.
- Family: fees are billed to a family, not an individual student, so siblings share one challan. Each family has a code such as FAM-0001.
- Academic Session: the school year (e.g. 2025–2026) that classes, exams and fees are tied to.
